Verify our records

Every night we publish the previous day's record and fix its fingerprint in the Bitcoin blockchain through OpenTimestamps, a free public timestamping service. Anyone can check it without having to trust us.

What this proves

That a day's record (uptime, outages and the places we checked from) has not been changed since that day ended. If we changed even one character later, its SHA-256 fingerprint would no longer match the one fixed in Bitcoin.

What it does not prove

That our measurements were right. A timestamp cannot make a wrong measurement right; it only shows that we did not change the record afterwards.

Daily records

Check it yourself

  1. Download the evidence file and its proof file for a day from the list above.
  2. Open opentimestamps.org and drag both files onto the page. It tells you which Bitcoin block holds the timestamp, and when that block was made.
  3. Or, with the OpenTimestamps client and a Bitcoin node of your own, run this with both files in one folder:
    ots verify YYYY-MM-DD.json.ots
  4. Each evidence file also names the SHA-256 of the day before it (previousSha256), so the days form a chain: changing one day breaks every later link.

Check a file you downloaded

The file is hashed in your browser. It is not uploaded anywhere.
